Beemak & Matchbox Villages, HO
Other Manufacturers of Plastic Villages
One company, Beemak Plastics of Los Angeles, CA was responsible for the production of first Matchbox Village, and later Beemak Village. These structures are only found in HO scale. Although the boxes for these items show six structures, only three have been positively identified: The Movie Corner, The Two Story Colonial, and The Hollywood Cottage.
Sometime in the 1950's Beemak apparently sold their line to Bachmann, as clearly the related Plasticville structures are identical. Beemak Plastics is still in business today. However, the PCA has determined that they no longer have any records available from the 1950's. Sadly, the full story of Beemak, as with Skyline and Littletown, may never be known.
Below is some information found with a Matchbox Village item. Look here in the future for more pictures and information. If you have any of these items, or can add to what little information we have about Beemak-made plastic village structures, please email the webmaster and help us expand the PCA database!
